Ruislip Bowls Club is affiliated to - Bowls England, Middlesex County Bowling Association, Middlesex County Womens Bowling Association.
About the club
On the 29th March 1919 a meeting was held to form a "Tennis and Bowls Club". Soon afterwards the two sports-sections decided to go their separate ways thus leaving the bowls club to develop on it's own. With some 20 male members the club organised 8 matches during the first season; the results of which are not known!
As ladies began to get involved in the sport, the club eventually became a mixed club and has continued to develop in that form to the present day. The clubhouse was extended in 1999 and the interior completely rebuilt to provide, together with a separate equipment store, the facilities that club members enjoy today.
The club's fixture card includes friendly matches, league matches
- Harrow and district vets league (mens triples)
- Chiltern and Thames league (mixed triples)
- Bidgood league (mens triples)
- Celebration Shield (mixed triples)
Gala days and Drives to suit both the competitive and "not-so-competitive" members. Roll-ups are arranged for most weekday afternoons where members enjoy the friendly social aspects of this gentle sport.
